Educatio Catholica is the institutional journal of the Congregation for Catholic Education which since January 2015 has taken the place of Seminarium, published from 1948 to 2014 and still available in the back issues regarding the main themes of the Cogregation.
The journal publishes - on a quarterly basis and in a renewed graphic format - the themes closely connected to the competences of the Congregation, therefore dealing in depth and in a competent manner with both: education in a general sense and in in a closer matter school, professional and university education.
In this pedagogical path, from nursery school to academic studies, emphasis is given not only to the legal, economic and social aspects but also to the more exquisitely pastoral ones. Through the publication of contributions by authoritative authors, the most current aspects of the Papal Magisterium and of the documents related to it will be presented.
Despite the epochal changes, the educational mission of the Church is still very current in a context of social fragmentation and disorientation that are characterized, as named by Benedict XVI, by educational emergency.
The true nature of education is to fully and authentically train the person by promoting a culture of listening, dialogue and responsibility. Faced with the many challenges, the Church does not hold back but renews her passion for education with enthusiasm and conviction, putting it at the service of the common good through all its educational institutions, formal and informal.
